WHAT TO TAKE WITH YOU?
Departure from the hotel around 10:00 PM. The journey to Cairo takes around 9 hours.
The Grand Egyptian Museum is located just a few minutes’ walk from the famous Pyramids of Giza – it sits on the border of the ancient desert and modern Cairo, so you’ll have direct views of these iconic structures when you visit. Designed to be the world’s largest archaeological museum dedicated to a single civilization, the museum is a must-see.
The museum houses more than 100,000 artifacts, covering almost 5,000-7,000 years of Egyptian history – from pre-dynastic times to the Greco-Roman era. The majority of the collections are divided into 12 main exhibition halls.
You will find a large number of objects here – display cases show, for example, sarcophagi, statues of pharaohs, jewelry, amulets, textiles, everyday objects and religious artifacts. You will also find the complete collection of treasures from Tutankhamun’s tomb – more than 5,000 objects. In the main hall you will be greeted by a huge statue of Ramesses II (approx. 11 meters high). You will be in the museum for approx. 5 hours. Then lunch and return to Marsa Alam. Planned return in the late hours.
