Hurghada

Hurghada is an Egyptian city and port on the Red Sea coast. It has a population of about 262,000. The city is the largest Egyptian tourist center in the Red Sea region. Originally a small fishing village, it has experienced a gradual boom in tourism since the 1970s. Tourists from all over the world are attracted here by long sandy beaches, the possibility of trips to the main tourist sites of Egypt, and also diving in the Red Sea. Since the 1990s, Hurghada has experienced very rapid development, mainly thanks to the construction of dozens of new hotels and the construction of a new international airport. Hurghada has become a popular tourist destination[1] thanks to a combination of building infrastructure for tourists and taking advantage of natural conditions - long sandy beaches, underwater coral reefs, a warm climate and the possibility of offering trips to Cairo and Luxor, which offer tourists many ancient Egyptian monuments to see (e.g. the pyramids in Giza and Saqqara, the temples in Karnak and Luxor, or the burial sites in the Valley of the Kings and the Valley of the Queens). In addition to historical trips, Hurghada also offers trips to nearby islands (the most famous is Giftun Island) to the world of coral reefs. Hurghada is located on the shores of the Red Sea and its climate is therefore moderated. In winter, the mainland is warmed up and in summer it is slightly cooled by the wind. Winters are very pleasant here with average temperatures exceeding 20 °C, and it is cooler at night. In summer, the sun rises very early, around 4 am, and sets very early, around 6 pm.

The sea temperature fluctuates between 22 °C in winter and 29 °C in summer. Despite this, the weather is tempered by low humidity and a pleasant sea breeze. During the day, air temperatures in summer are around 37 °C, often slightly exceeding 40 °C. The nights are very warm.
